Neuroinfinity Stress Response Evaluations
What Are NeuroInfinity Stress Response Evaluations?
Stress can be emotional (relationships, work, finances), chemical (diet, hydration, nicotine) or physical (slips, falls, poor posture, birthing process). When stress overwhelms our brain’s ability to adapt, dysfunction and symptoms can appear. At Synaptic Chiropractic, we focus on assessing how your body responds to and recovers from all three types of stressors. Once an assessment is completed, we can focus on correcting and stabilizing any current neurophysiological dysfunction. We work with you to create a plan of action to reach your health goals.
Dr. Andrea Smith uses the NeuroInfiniti Stress Response Evaluation as a starting point for all patients at Synaptic Chiropractic because of the insight it provides on how your brain and body work together and in response to stress. Understanding how your brain and body currently are functioning can help us understand why you are experiencing pain, muscle-tightening, anxiety and/or other symptoms.
When a situation or event in your daily life stimulates your body, your body responds to that stressor with what is called a stress response. At the same time, your nervous system interprets these physical changes as stressors as well, and responds accordingly. The NeuroInfiniti Stress Response Evaluation is a non-invasive, interactive evaluation that monitors your neurological responses to three different types of external stressors. This computerized evaluation monitors heart rate, respiration rate, skin conductance, temperature, muscle tension and EEG/brainwave patterns throughout the examination.
How It Works
Before the evaluation begins, sensors are attached to your skin on your shoulder muscles, the top of your head, your ear lobes and your hands. You’ll then receive a series of recorded instructions and verbal instructions from a technician who is in the room with you, administering the test. The evaluation will measure how your body and brain react to certain noises and requests. The Stress Response Evaluation takes approximately 20 minutes.
The initial Stress Response Evaluation helps Dr. Andrea understand how your brain and body react to stress. Using the results, she creates a chiropractic care plan that targets adjustments to specific areas of the body that correspond with specific kinds of brain activity. The goal of the adjustments is to optimize how your brain and body process information, including stressors. Progress during and after your treatment is measured by re-administration of the Stress Response Evaluation and based on how you feel.
